Child Acting Auditions

Kids have the opportunity of a lifetime. The chance to star in a Steven Spielberg film is here! Child acting auditions are being held in several cities to find the next child stars to be in the movie. The kids movie casting call is for the upcoming project “The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara”. Casting directors are searching for boys ages 6 to 9 years old to play some pretty hefty roles. The upcoming flick is based on a true story. In addition to an in-person casting call, producers are accepting self-taped submissions.

About “The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara”

Steven Spielberg is making a film about the true story of EDGARDO MORTARA – a 6 year old Jewish boy from Bologna who was reported to have been secretly baptized by a maid, and was deemed by the Catholic church therefore to be Christian. Pope Pius IX (to be played by Mark Rylance) decreed that the boy could not remain with his Jewish family. He was seized by the Papal State and taken to the Vatican where his indoctrination into Catholicism began. This was a cause célèbre of mid-nineteenth century European politics and the domestic and international outrage against the pontifical state’s actions may have contributed to its downfall amid the unification of Italy. This is an incredible story of real historical relevance.

What They Are Looking For

EDGARDO — BOY age 6-9 to play 6 years old. This is a unique and very challenging part for a truly special boy. The story deals with the complexity of an extremely intelligent and gifted child’s situation – his desire to return to his family and the faith of his ancestors, pitted against his ability to learn the Catechism and engage with the Pope on a level far beyond his years. HE SHOULD APPEAR TO BE A JEWISH ITALIAN child. We are not looking for any kind of Italian accent. LEAD.

Kids & Teens Commercial Casting Call

Are you looking to apply for a kid’s commercial audition? A new child and teen casting call for KFC is now casting. Casting directors are searching for brothers who are between the ages of 8 and 15 years old for the upcoming shoot. The team is open to boys of any ethnicity but are really interested in seeing some South Asian kids. The commercial pays $1500.00 per child for those who are chosen.

Casting Call for Girls 8-11 for Toy Campaign in Toronto

There is a great new opportunity for young girls to appear in a new Toy Campaign! Jigsaw Casting Ltd. is looking for non-union young girls to appear in the shoot. This is a great paying gig. Those selected for the campaign will be paid approximately $1,000.00 for the shoot! They are looking for girls who are local to Toronto.

About the Campaign

The upcoming Toy Campaign will be shooting in Toronto, Canada so they are looking for local girls to take part in the shoot. The toy company’s name hasn’t been released yet but this job will pay approximately $1,000.00 per individual booked. Auditions are set to take place on May 19th. The recall will take place on May 24th and the shoot will be on May 31st and June 1st.

What They Are Looking For

Casting directors are looking for girls who are ages 8 through 11 to appear in the campaign. They are in need of girls who are outgoing and enjoy arts & crafts for a toy commercial.

Auditions for Male & Female Teens for Recurring Roles Filming in Toronto

That’s right! Here is your chance to be apart of the iconic show. “Degrassi: Next Class” is searching for a male and female actor for recurring roles on the show. They are shooting their second season of this Degrassi series. The show is now in it’s 5th series of the show that was created in 1979.

About ‘Degrassi: Next Class’

“Degrassi Next Class follows the lives of the students from Degrassi Community School, a fictional high school in Toronto. It is the 5th series in the Degrassi franchise and the first two seasons have been filmed. It will tell the stories of a new generation of students as they navigate their way through high school dealing with real life issues and situations that teenagers actually go through such as Cyber Bullying, Mental illness, Homophobia, racism, drug use, feminism, sexuality, religion, life threatening diseases, online harassment, catfishing and dysfunctional families. It will target the teen cohort today known as Generation Z.” IMDB. The show stars Nikki Gould, Ricardo Hoyos and Andre Kim.

Casting Call For Male and Female Teens

Rasha (15, Open Ethnicity) – FEMALE. Quick-witted and sarcastic, Rasha comes to Degrassi, having relocated from the Middle East, ready to take on any and every high school experience. From crushes, to cameos in the school play, this star track and field athlete is constantly pushing boundaries and willing to try anything once (must be willing to cut hair short).

Saad (16, Open Ethnicity) – MALE. Brooding and intense, Saad keeps his distance from the crowds of bubbly, babbling teens in Degrassi’s halls. To some, his self-imposed isolation reads as anger, and no one would blame him- – he came to Canada and left his childhood home in the Middle East behind. Truly, though, he’s just a thoughtful, artistic kid, struggling to find his place in his new country.

Audition Instructions

Casting directors are collecting self -tape auditions for these roles.

Anyone submitting for these roles must be a CANADIAN CITIZEN and be able to work as a Toronto local between May-August of 2016. If you have already appeared on Degrassi, you cannot audition.
